“Success is the progressive realisation to a worthy ideal.” Earl Nightingale
My aspiration is that each one of you reaches that goal you call success. That is what drives us and makes us want to get up every morning. Being successful in life is how we grow; as growth is natural for all living beings, our hair, nails and body grows effortlessly. Growth is about instinctively striving to become better.
But do you know that only 5% of the world’s population can define success? So how can we be successful, if we don’t know what it is? It is a fact that success means different things for different people, but the definition of success is to work with purpose towards something that is core to your beliefs.
Some define success altruistically. Like wanting to open a school for the underprivileged. Others are more materialistic. Like having a mansion and a private jet. For some going to university, others companionship or having children. One thing is sure, whoever wants to embark on their road to success should follow this formula; Your dream + work = success.
Regrettably, nine times out of ten, when you set an intention to succeed the law of nature puts obstacles in your path. Do not panic though because this can be overcome by being disciplined. That means having a clear goal, so you stay focused. It helps you from falling into temptation. Like if you want to start a diet you shouldn’t eat that last piece of chocolate cake.
Now that we are coming towards the end of this guide, we want to find our purposefulness mentioned in chapter one. To reach here though we have had to go deep into our koilia and search for our truth. This has led us to overcome many testing periods.
We have had to fight our worst fears like accepting that we or our loved ones have dependencies; such as the internet, alcohol abuse, gambling, drugs, destructive relationships and eating issues. The next stage was to observe the behaviour and start to make changes. Now we are at the final stage which is goal setting.
From my observations, the secret to success is to stop negotiating with the mind and detach from it, because your mind is the enemy. Concentrate on your dream and have no excuses. Obstacles will emerge but just anticipate them and then follow your action steps.
The mind plays games with you. It looks for the path to least resistance to keep you out of change. It sees change as a danger. It is trying to protect you, but by not boarding the journey to success you remain stuck and hopeless. If you enjoyed this blog, you might enjoy this one
